What is recuperative care?

Recuperative care, also called medical respite, is short-term residential care for people who are recovering from an illness, injury or procedure and who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. It is for people who no longer need a hospital bed but have nowhere safe to finish recovering.

Who pays for recuperative care in California?

Recuperative care is one of the Community Supports offered by Medi-Cal managed care plans under CalAIM. The health plan authorizes the stay and there is no cost to the member.

OSP Management operates locations in Apple Valley, Los Angeles, Alhambra, Westminster, serving Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Bernardino County.

How do I refer a patient to OSP Management?

Call (626) 864-9955 to discuss the referral, then send the completed referral packet by secure fax to (949) 606-8090. Patient records should not be sent by ordinary email.

How to file a grievance

If you believe OSP Health Management Inc has failed to provide these services, or has discriminated in another way on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, you can file a grievance with our Section 1557 Coordinator:

Section 1557 Coordinator: details required before publication

Name, title, postal address, telephone number and email address must be supplied by ownership. A written grievance procedure is required where the organization has 15 or more employees (45 CFR 92.7–92.9). This notice is not compliant until these are filled in.

You may file a grievance in person, by mail, by telephone or by email. If you need help filing one, our Section 1557 Coordinator will assist you.
